How Often Do You Wash Your Vibrator?

How often do you wash your vibrator? Is it normal to just throw it on the floor after using it and letting it sit until the next use? My girlfriend NEVER washes hers and sometimes I notice crusty chunks on it. I thought you were suppose to wash it with warm water and soap after each use.
