My 'cycle' is typically 23-28days, I'm on day 24 right now- my are hard..?

This is not something I usually deal with before a period. I quit nursing my youngest daughter about 4.5 months ago and my ies unfortunately became rather...squishy.. . But right now they are hard (and tender) inside kind of where my milk ducts would be. Can something like this happen at any point in your life as a clue of an impending period? Its just out of character. Thanks for any input!
