Is it necessary to change name on property after property owner’s death?

Is it necessary to change name on property after property owner’s death? is there any time line for changing name? eg. If A mother of B has a house on her name and dies, and B is only legal heir of the property, is it necessary for B to get the property name change to his name in certain time period? I need answer as per Indian Law applicable to Hindus.
