Just charged with aggravated unlicensed operation...?

In NY state last night. They said I had an outstanding ticket (which I submitted payment for months ago). I'm going to the courthouse where the ticket was issued to try to clear things up. What should I expect? Would it help if I mailed a copy of my cleared abstract back with my ticket? Also, if the ticket has been paid, why is it not showing up on the dmv system? Could there be an error processing the payment? I never received notification that my license was suspended. Thanks.
